We aren't able to do a hotel block, but we did want to provide 2 recommendations for places to stay, one being an all-inclusive and one a non-all-inclusive.
We are looking at the top strip of the Hotel Zone so closer to venue (about 20-25 mins), pretty beach, and walkable to food & fun. Here's a map so that makes sense:
Both options are under the same company (11-min walk apart).

We joined the rewards program as it's cash back. You can also save with Early Booking, refundable sale rate.
There is also a refundable member rate available once you get to room selection if you become a member, validate email, etc. that's showing as lowest. Warning it is a bit of a wonky process. Just double check you're booking refundable rate if that's what you want.
Option 1
Fiesta Americana Cancún Villas
-Affordable, non-all-inclusive resort (smaller property)
-Jimell and I will be staying here
-Room options: (a) 2 doubles or 1 king (told me assigned at check in) or (b) 1 king villa w/pull-out couch
Option 2
Grand Fiesta Americana Coral Beach Cancún
-All-inclusive: Larger property but not at all a sprawling, mega resort
-Careful as there is another all-inclusive property in the brand further down, Fiesta Americana Condesa Cancun, so DO NOT book there.
-All suites, differing layouts
-Jimell and I stayed here during our pre-con in Sept and it was lovely -- we would both stay again if we had more time to enjoy.
-Good value for $
-This resort is also available on Costco Travel for Costco folks, including shuttle from/to airport.
-Security is very tight so if you have friends at another hotel, you can't hangout/walk in the door at the all-inclusive if not staying there.
TRANSPORTATION
The wedding is not at a hotel/resort, as it's a private venue. Since "offsite," we will plan to run a shuttle to and from the hotels mentioned above. You can also Uber, but I would not plan to drive.
There is no Uber allowed from the airport to anywhere, but you can Uber from hotel to airport & anywhere else. There are also no taxis to just hop in cheaply at the airport.
We have links forthcoming so you can individually pre-book or you would want to look into package deals where you get airport transfer from your hotel as the private companies will gauge you at the airport if you don't have a plan.
